1. Google My Business
Google My Business is the first place any business should start. It’s important to note that this app does not replace your website, it helps you promote it. Your profile allows you to list all of your important business information. Customers can easily leave reviews, read other people’s reviews, and evaluate if your services are a good fit for them. If they’re interested after seeing your business page, they can click on a link to visit your website. This tool is a great way to increase your company’s visibility and ensure that you’re showing up when someone searches “landscaper near me.”
- Make sure you fill out every section of your page
- Respond to negative reviews quickly
- Verify your page as soon as possible
- Upload new photos weekly
2. Google Analytics
Google Analytics helps you track your website traffic, audience information, and how people interact with your site. After you’ve set up your business’ website, tracking your performance is key to improving sales. The tool can seem daunting at first, but thankfully there are a variety of free resources to help you understand Google Analytics, such as videos, blogs, and Google Academy’s own tutorials.
Tips:
- Watch tutorials
- Take a course
- Learn the all metric definitions
- Set goals around your website
3. Google Search Console
Have you ever wondered what your customers are typing into Google to find you? Google Search Console is a free tool that tracks the search queries of your website. This is an incredibly helpful tool to track your page rankings in Google, as well as tracking what phrases your customers are searching for to find your website. These insights can help you plan website content, target underperforming keywords, and assess the helpfulness of your current website pages.
4. Google Ads
Google Ads is an online advertising platform. Your ads can appear in Google searches and on the Google Display Network. Almost every company uses Google Ads because Google has a massive reach, it allows you to target specific audiences, and it allows you to manage every aspect of your campaign. While the previous apps in this blog were all free, Google Ads is CPC (cost-per-click), which means you pay for each click on your ad. This price is determined by a bid (the amount you pay for the ad to be served) and can be set manually or you can use automatic bidding (Google decides).
5. Google Forms
Google Forms is a free survey creator included in the Google Docs suite. This app allows you to survey clients and employees to gain valuable insights. The opportunities for surveys are endless. Sending out a customer satisfaction survey lets you hear directly from your customers on how they view your company. Pair this data with your customer retention rate, and you can find out what customers think your strengths and weaknesses are. Surveying employees is just as important. Use Google Forms to survey employees on their satisfaction and see what they think you could improve upon.
