Master Your Crew’s Schedule Even When There’s an Unexpected Delay

This post is an extension of the SingleOps Academy training module that you can find in the navigation menu of our app. We will be posting SingleOps Academy content regularly going forward to help customers optimize their use of SingleOps.

Have you ever had to reschedule entire days of work due to unexpected delays? If a snowstorm causes you to have to stop work for a few days, you don’t want to waste time tediously rescheduling your crews. The batch rescheduling feature on SingleOps is built to save you time while seamlessly rescheduling entire days of work. When an emergency stops you from working for a few days, you can easily push full days of tasks and visits forwards or backwards, however many days you need.

When you open the calendar page on the SingleOps app, you can see all of the visits and tasks scheduled for the month. If you have multiple operations in different locations, you can select the specific operation at the top of the page and the calendar will only shows the events scheduled for that operation. Once you have viewed the days that need to be rescheduled, click the blue batch reschedule button circled at the top of the page.

A new page opens that lets you choose the date range for the day(s) you need to reschedule. You also must choose how many days forwards (or backwards) you need to move the tasks and visits. If you want to move tasks and visits back, use a negative number. If you haven’t already selected the specific operation, you can do that on this page too. You can also reschedule for specific assignees. Depending on whether you need your crews to work on Saturdays and Sundays, you can choose to include these days, but they are unselected by default.

Once you click the blue reschedule button at the bottom of the page, a list of all the tasks and visits you plan to reschedule pops up with their new dates. When you approve, your calendar will reflect the new schedules and the rescheduled will be blank.

The batch reschedule function is also available from the route planner view as well, circled above. It will reschedule all visits, not just the visits on the route for that day.

The batch rescheduling feature on the SingleOps calendar is an important time-saving tool. When an unexpected delay happens, you don’t want to spend any extra time trying to get your work schedule back on track. This function helps your company stay organized and consistent, even when there’s a delay in work.

By default, only administrators can use batch rescheduling, but you can contact support@singleops.com and ask us to turn the function on for other users.
